Muslims urge district administration to ensure adequate water supply on Eid

June 3: As Muslims gear up to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, the possibility of water shortage ruining the celebration has created doubts in the minds of the members of the community. Leaders of the community have urged the Dakshina Kannada district administration to ensure there is constant supply of water during the festival.
Athavullah Jokatte, district president of SDPI, in his letter to deputy commissioner (DC) Sasikanth Senthil has urged the DC to o ensure daily supply of water till the end of the festivities on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Similarly K Ashraf, former mayor and president of Dakshina Kannada Jilla Muslim Okkoota, in a separate representation to the DC, has requested the  MCC to ensure that water is supplied to all households on the day the city celebrates Eid.
