Need urgent measures to overcome acute shortage of water: MP Shobha Karandlaje

June 3: Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje visited the Baje dam in Udupi and said that there was a need for urgent measures to overcome acute shortage of water as the level in the dam was dipping at an alarming rate.
MP Shobha visited the dam along with legislator Raghupathi Bhat and City Municipal Council officers on Sunday. She mentioned that the water at Baje will last only for a few days and if the region does not get rain within a week, it would be difficult for the administration to supply water to houses in the municipality limits.
Karandlaje also inspected the dredging work which is being undertaken at the dam. She urged the CMC officers to make the required arrangements and ensure supply of water in tankers to all the 35 wards even if the water in the dam dries up completely.
