New Floating Bridge Has Been Installed at Malpe Beach in Udupi: Will be Open For Public Soon

It may be recalled that the authorities were forced to dismantle Karnataka‘s first floating bridge at Malpe, three days after it was inaugurated in the first week of May. Several photos and videos went viral on social media, claiming that the bridge was damaged, after it was hit by huge waves. A new floating bridge has been installed at the Malpe Beach in Udupi district. However, the facility is currently under observation, and will soon be declared open to the public. Providing details about the newly installed floating bridge. A visitor will have to pay a fee to walk on the bridge for 15 minutes, while wearing a lifejacket.

Sudhesh Shetty, leaseholder, Malpe Beach and proprietor, Dial Mantra, said that a new floating bridge, which has been installed at the beach. It will soon be open to the public. The team has been trained on how to fix and dismantle the bridge. A team of experts from Kerala will arrive for inspection. Once the expert team submits a stability report, and the district administration approves the same, the bridge will be declared open for the public. Water sports, including jetski and parasailing have already been introduced at the beach for the season.
