NITK Surathkal is Organising ‘Yuva Sangam’-A Government Initiative: Applications Invited

National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) Surathkal is organising phase two of ‘Yuva Sangam’ programme under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. NITK has invited applications from students in this regard. Under this scheme, Karnataka has been paired with Madhya Pradesh, and NITK Surathkal and NIT Bhopal are the nodal institutions respectively. A team of 45 youths in the age group 18-30 years from Karnataka will visit Madhya Pradesh to participate in the programme. The programme is scheduled to be held in April and May this year.

Yuva Sangam, an initiative of Government of India, focuses on conducting exposure tours of the youths, mainly comprising students from Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) and some off-campus youths, from one state to other states. The exposure tours are set to last 5-7 days, providing a unique opportunity for young people to gain multidimensional experiences under five broad areas – Paryatan (tourism), Parampara (traditions), Pragati (development), Prodyogik (technology), and Paraspar Sampark (people-to-people connect). Several ministries, including education, culture, tourism, information and broadcasting, railways, home affairs, youth affairs, DONER, and sports, are participating in this initiative, with each ministry responsible for implementing its part of the programme. The government is funding the scheme.

Those interested may register on the portal https://ebsb.aicte-india.org/. The last date for registration is April 9. The selection is based on the criteria formulated by the ministry of education.
