NITK, Surathkal Plans to Start Another Campus: The New Campus Likely to Cover Commerce Science & Humanities Courses

The technical institute NITK, Surathkal, is planning to start another campus, that will exclusively offer courses under the National Education Policy 2020. Two plots have been identified in Kallamundkur under the Moodbdiri-Mulki constituency, which is 20 kilometres away from the present National Institute of Technology campus in Surathkal. One land is around 60 acres, and another is 80 acres, which is government land.

If the land is allocated, NITK, Surathkal has planned to start non-engineering courses under NEP. The existing campus is a 295.35-acre campus that caters to the needs of a community of faculty, staff, and students. The new campus will have inter, multi, and trans-disciplinary courses under NEP-2020. The campus will cover commerce, science, and humanities courses. Also, it may have some health-related courses. The campus will be funded through HEPA, internal revenue generation, and donations from alumni.
