One arrested for Illegal sand extraction

April 18: A man was arrested by Byndoor police for illegal sand extraction from River Sauparnika.. The police have seized sand worth Rs 24,000   during a raid at Badakere in Byndoor in the district. The arrested has been identified as Dinesh Shetty.
Sub Inspector of Byndoor police station Thimmesh B N was tipped off by locals that miscreants were extracting sand without any permit in Badakere. The police rushed to the spot and arrested Dinesh who was engaged in illegal sand mining activity. However, some of them fled the spot. They are driver Ravi, Dinesh Ganiga, Nithyanand Shet, Sridhar, Praveen Shetty and Gopala.
