One killed and two injured in road accident

May 21: A person was killed on the spot, and two others were severely injured, after the vehicle in which they were travelling in crashed into a stationery truck near Uppor in Brahmavar, Udupi district, on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Hanumanthappa, 18 a resident of Bagalkot, who was driving the car. Two others, who were severely injured, are being treated at a private hospital in Manipal.
Police said that the deceased and two others were returning to Udupi after attending a function in Kundapur in a pick-up vehicle. On reaching near Uppor in Brahmavar, Hanumanthappa lost control over the wheel and crashed into a parked truck. Hanumanthappa died due to the crash, and the two other other passengers in the pickup were severely injured. The vehicle has become completely mangled due to the impact of the crash. A case has been registered at the Brahmavar police station in this regard.
