One More Step Towards Smart Mangalore: 13 Government Schools In The City To Be ‘Smart Schools’

February 26: Thirteen schools in eight wards of Mangalore will be upgraded under the Area Based Development (ABD) of the Smart City Mission (SCM), informed Mohammed Nazir, Managing Director of Mangalore Smart City Limited (MSCL).
The schools include Government Higher Primary School Car Street, Bastigarden, Neereshwalya, Hoigebazar Lower Primary School, Government Practicing HS, Balmatta Primary School, Balmatta Secondary School, Bunder Higher Primary School (Urdu), Bunder Government High School (Urdu) and Bolara East Government Primary School.
These smart schools will have IT-enabled interactive teaching and learning tools, computer labs and much more. This will be done in two phases. First, renovation works, at an estimated cost of Rs 11 crores, will be carried in these schools which includes replacing floor tiles, painting walls, repairing roofs for all-weather use, upgrading toilets and improving water supply. In the second stage, MSCL will provide Rs 5 crore to install the information and technology tools to make the school a smart school.
