OPD services for patients will remain closed for 24 hours: Click to know

June 16: The outpatient departments (OPD) of hospitals in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts will not function from 6 am on Monday June 17 to 6 am June 18, Tuesday. This decision has been takenas per the call given by Indian Medical Association (IMA) as a protest against the attack on doctors in West Bengal.
Dr B Sachidananda Rai president of Indian Medical Association’s Dakshina Kannada unit and his Udupi district counterpart, Dr Gurumurthy informed about the decision. They informed that the OPDs services will not be available in any of the private medical colleges and hospitals from 6 am June 17 to 6 am June 18. They explained that no services including medical shops in these hospitals will be open. They mentioned hat however, emergency services have been exempted from this agitation call.
KMC Manipal medical superintendent, Dr Avinash Shetty said that OPD services will not be provided even at Manipal Hospital, and Dr TMA Pai Hospital at Udupi and Karkala but emergency treatment service will be provided during this period.
Ayuth Foundation units of both these districts have extended support to the strike cal.
