Orchid lovers! This is something you shouldn’t miss!

April 12: Alia Orchid Care to organise a four-day orchid exhibition-cum-sale at Kadri Park Exhibition Ground, from April 13 to 16. This exhibition aims to encourage organic methods of cultivation and preparing organic nutrients, to protect the ecosystem.
Queenie Lasrado of Alia Orchid Care said that the exhibition aims to showcase the orchid hybrids and species that can be grown successfully in the local temperature. A session on methods of growing orchids will be held from April 14 to 16 at 10.30 am. In addition to training in growing orchids, training on growing anthuriums and adeniums will also be held.
The exhibition will sell various varieties of orchids, dwarf anthuriums, and multi-petal rosy adeniums at low prices. There will be around 5,000 orchids and around 1,000 anthurium plants and about 500 adenium plants at the expo.
The orchid expo will be inaugurated by Rev Dr Leo D’Souza, Scientists and Professor, Laboratory of Applied Biology St Aloysius College. Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr Selvamani R, Horticulture department Deputy Director H R Naik, Senior Assistant Directors Janaki V and Joe Pradeep D’Spuza will be the guest of honour.
