Overflow of Sewage from Manholes in this Area Creates Menace to Residents: MCC Assures New Pipeline

August 26: The manhole at Vas Lane in Mangalore has been overflowing since a year and is causing misery to the residents.
Several residents complained about the overflowing sewage from manholes and also mentioned that no action has been taken by the MCC inspite of several requests. The residents are also concerned about the vector-borne diseases that may spread due to the stagnant water.
MCC junior engineer Raghupal Bhat mentioned that the pipeline collecting sewage from Balmatta and Kankanady market chokes the manholes on Vas Lane, which is the main reason for the overflow. Bhat assured that the linking of pipelines after monsoon would prevent overflow of sewage on the stretch.
