Paying loan on low-interest: An online racket busted by Mangalore Police

July 6:  The Mangalore city cyber police have busted an online racket which had cheated many people by collecting deposits on the pretext of paying low-interest loan. Yusuf Khan, a native of Uttar Pradesh has been arrested in this regard. Two more suspects Naushad and Prabhakar are still absconding.
The gang is said to be operating from Janakpuri in New Delhi, targeting around 300 people in Karnataka, including people from Mangalore. It is learnt that the accused would their collect PAN and Aadhaar card details over the phone and lure them to pay four EMIs in advance online.
Based on a complaint filed by a Mangalorean, the city cyber police swung into action and conducted a week-long operation. The accused has created a fake certificate by forging the signature of National e-governance authorities. A case has been registered in this connection. The accused had launched the websites similar to the official websites to collect money for the flight tickets from unsuspecting customers. People who lost money, have submitted complaints in this regard.
