Physically challenged persons to handle special booths

April 14: Udupi district administration will be setting up two polling booths with special facilities for persons with disabilities (PWD). District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati said that these polling stations would be handled by physically challenged people.
These polling booths will be provided with electricity connection, fan, disabled-friendly toilet, drinking water facility, ramp and wheelchairs. Volunteers will be recruited to help the persons with disabilities at the polling booth. Along with this vehicles will also be arranged to transport the persons with disabilities to the polling booths.
