Planning to Travel on Charmadi Ghat? This is What You Need to Know!

August 7: Due to heavy rains that lashed for two days, there has been several landslides on Charmadi Ghat. People who were travelling on Charmadi Ghat were stuck in several places.
DC Sasikant Senthil, SP Laxmiprasad, Beltangady tahsildar Ganapaty Shastry, circle inspector Sandesh P G, SI Avinash and zonal forest officer Subbaiah visited the ghat Tuesday, August 6, midnight. Vehicles which were trapped due to the landslides have been released and people have been rescued.
Understanding the situation on the ghat, DC Senthil has ordered the traffic to be closed on the ghat for two days. Along with this,  Road connection between Chikkamagalore-Dakshina Kannada, Dharmasthala is cut off.
