Poll campaign on Social media to be closely monitored

March 29: Krishna Kunal, the General Observer for Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha Constituency directed the officials to closely monitor the election campaign on social media. He urged the officials to create awareness and to increase voting percentage.
He directed assistant returning officers to ensure that basic facilities were provided at polling booths. He even said the officials should respond immediately if there were complaints about names missing from the electoral list.
Sandeep Prakash Karnik, the Election Commission’s Police Observer said that suitable action would be initiated against those who issue provocative statements. He said that the checking of vehicles at checkposts should be intensified.
