Poor dengue patients to get platelets free of cost from Indian Red cross society: Click for details

August 1: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) district President C A Shantharam Shetty said that the IRCS Dakshina Kannada District Unit will provide platelets free of cost to poor dengue patients.
While speaking to the media persons on Wednesday, July 31 he said that the IRCS has been conducting awareness camps on dengue, in various parts of the city, especially students who now are educated on the preventive measures for dengue.
The IRCS blood bank on the premises of the Government Lady Goschen Hospital has been supplying blood to patients at the Hospital free of cost. The IRCS will now issue platelets free of cost to dengue patients belonging to BPL families, admitted in any hospital and for non-BPL dengue patients admitted in any hospital, the platelet concentrates will be given at a concessional rate of Rs 200. The concession is made available up to August 31.
