Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the selection and engagement to the posts of branch postmaster (BPM), assistant branch postmaster (ABPM) and dak sevak. The last date for submission of applications online is February 16. Applications are to be submitted online at https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.

The process is expected to be completed by July 2023, said Shriharsha N, senior superintendent of post offices, Mangalore postal division. He told reporters that according to a notification, the number of vacant posts of gram dak sevaks (GDS) is 3,036 in Karnataka. The number of vacancies in DK and Udupi districts is 273, of which, 95 are in Mangalore division ; 113 in Puttur postal division and 65 in Udupi postal division. During the fourth cycle of recruitment last year, the total number of vacancies was 237. Only 155 were filled in the undivided DK. Out of 75 vacancies in Mangalore division last year, only 44 were filled. Of the 44, only 15 candidates were from Dakshina Kannada.
