Priest assaulted at Kukke Temple: Was it a trick to create confusion regarding Sarpa Samskara rituals?

June 7: A priest of Samputa Narasimhaswamy Mutt in Subrahmanya was allegedly assaulted at Kukke Subrahmanya Temple by Maheshkumar Karikkala, Guruprasad Panja and Prashanh Bhat Manila for conductinfg Sarpa Samskara at the Mutt premises.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has condemned the recent attack on the priest of Narasimhaswamy Mutt. Parishad’s Karnataka Prantha president Prof M B Puranik alleged that this is a conspiracy by some vested interests to tarnish the image of Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple and Sri Samputa Narasimhaswamy Mutt.
Puranik said that some mean games are being played in order to create confusion regarding Sarpa Samskara rituals. False propaganda is being spread among devotees that the ‘Sarpa Samskara’ ritual performed at the Narasimhaswamy Mutt is not valid and the ritual must be performed at the Subramanya temple itself. He has urged the deputy commissioner to order an enquiry and take appropriate action against the accused and the temple administrative committee members.
