Protest in front of the Mescom office: Irregular billing may be one of the reasons

June 14: The district unit of the CPI(M) staged a protest in front of the Mescom office. CPI(M) leader Balakrishna Shetty said that the protest is held against the irregular billing and hike in power tariff. He alleged that the price has been hiked by 33 paise a unit, which is unfair.
Shetty condemned the government decision to hike the power tariff and said that the government fails to take the poor into confidence. He demanded that the government should take decision to withdraw the hike in power tariff, as it is bothering the poor, farmers and labourers altogether.
Shetty also alleged that the billing is not correct, owing to problems in the billing system. There are lots of irregularities in the billing.
