South Western Railway (SWR) will operate two round trips of special trains between Bangalore and Karwar via Padil bypass in Mangalore to clear extra rush of passengers during Deepavali. MP for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Kota Srinivas Poojary had urged the Railway Ministry to operate the special services before and after the festival for the hassle-free travel of people from coastal Karnataka.
Train No. 07365 SSS Hubballi – Madgaon Express Special will run via Yeshwantpur on October 17. It will depart Hubballi at 5:15 a.m. and Yesvantpur at 1.10 p.m. to reach Madgaon at 5:30 a.m. the next day. The train will have stoppages at Haveri, Davangere, Birur, Arsikere, Tumakuru, Yeshwantpur, Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Kabakaputtur, Bantwal, Surathkal, Mulki, Udupi, Barkur, Kundapur, Byndoor, Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Honnavar, Kumta, Gokarna Road, Ankola, and Karwar.
Train No. 07366 Madgaon – Bangalore Cantonment Express Special will depart Madgaon at 6.30 a.m. and Karwar at 7.42 a.m. on October 18 to reach Bangalore Cantonment at 11.30 p.m. the same day.
Train No. 06205 Bangalore Cantonment – Madgaon Express Special will depart Bangalore Cantonment at 12 p.m. on October 19 to reach Madgaon at 5.30 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 06206 Madgaon – Bangalore Cantonment Express Special will depart Madgaon at 6.30 a.m. on October 20 to reach Bangalore Cantonment at 11.30 p.m. the same day. The stoppages for both directions are: SMVT Bangalore, Chikkabanavar, Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Kabakaputtur, Bantwal, Surathkal, Mulki, Udupi, Barkur, Kundapur, Byndoor, Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Honnavar, Kumta, Gokarna Road, Ankola, and Karwar.
The trains will consist of 20 coaches, including two second AC, three third AC, 10 sleeper class, three general second class, and two second class seating-cum-luggage vans.
