Rajasthan Grameena Mela at Hotel Woodlands: Something You Should not Miss

August 25: Rajasthan Grameena Mela, an exhibition cum sale of handloom, jewellery and handicrafts by artisans from across the country, was inaugurated at Woodlands Hotel in Mangaluru on Saturday, August 24.
The mela was inaugurated by actor Pruthvi Ambaar and chief guest was Woodlands owner Yermal Ramesh Bhat.
A range of fabrics — Sanganeri saree, Kantha work, Pashmina, Dhopian, Baluchari, boutique silk sarees from Kolkata, Tussar, Matka and silk sarees from Chattisgarh, Mangalgiri, Kalamakari from Andhra Pradesh, Benaras, Zamadani sarees from Uttar Pradesh, Chanderi, Maheswari silk saree, Bagh print cotton works from Madhya Pradesh, Khadi silk and Tussar silk from Bihar, Kutch Bandhini dress material, cotton work, Patola and Rajkot Silk Saree from Gujarat are available.
Wooden handicraft items are also available for sale. The exhibition brings hand embroidery, wooden handicrafts from Sarangpur, black metal idols from Hyderabad, artefacts from Jodhpur, brass artefacts, bedsheets, decorative items, clay wares, Banjara bags, artefacts in metal casting and blue crockery sets among other things. Jewellery items and ornaments trinkets are other attractions, with exquisite Jaipur ornaments in German silver and embedded with semi-precious stones.
The Rajasthan Grameen Mela will go on in Mangalore from 10.30 am to 9 am till September 8.
