Rebel candidate Amrith Shenoy expelled from Congress for his anti-party activities

April 7: Amrith Shenoy, contesting as a rebel candidate in the Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency, was expelled from the Congress. He had filed his nominations as an independent candidate on March 26. He was expelled on the charges of his anti party activities.
General secretary of KPCC Haji Safiullah, stated that Shenoy was removed from the party’s primary membership for a period of six years. The decision was taken on the directions of KPCC president.
While Talking to Amrith Shenoy, he expressed displeasure on this decision by Congress. He said that he has worked for the Congress all these years sincerely but has been sacked without any notice.
