Residents of Maharashtra Returnees To Be Sealed Down: No More Institutional Quarantine

June 9: State health minister B Sriramulu has stated that Maharashtra returnees will not be subject to institutional quarantine but remain inside their residents for 14 days of home quarantine. The minister clarified that in case of apartments, the entire building will not be sealed but only the flat concerned would be sealed down.
Minister Sriramulu mentioned that the residents of the Maharashtra returnees will be completed sealed down and action will be taken against the person person if he or she comes out of the house.
The Deputy commissioner has been given complete authority and along with this, police personnel and home guards have also been appointed. ASHA and Anganwadi workers will also keep a vigil over these residents. If people coming from other states and countries do not display any symptoms of disease, their throat swab samples will not be sent for testing, he clarified.
