Rise in Women Passengers Travelling to Dhatmasthala & Kukke: KSRTC Operates 20 Extra Buses

There has been a drastic rise in women passengers in KSRTC buses ever since the Shakti Scheme was launched in the state. Many women are making the best use of the scheme for temple visits like Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara temple and Kukke Subrahmanya temple.

About 20 additional buses will ply from Subrahmanya to Bangalore. Except for one Rajahamsa and one sleeper bus, the remaining buses plying on the route are Karnataka Sarige buses. About 25 buses operate on the route on a daily basis and on Sundays, another 15 buses are added to cater to the rush.

The general travel pattern is that after arrival at Dharmasthala, devotees travel to Subrahmanya and leave the district from here. Based on the demand, more buses are likely to operate from Dharmasthala during the night. However, at Dharmasthala, several buses from other divisions also arrive.
