Sandhya S Pai, Urmila Ramesh Kumar receive the Veera Rani Abbakka Awards!

Veera Rani Abbakka Awards were presented to Dr Sandhya S Pai, Managing Editor of Taranga for her contributions to the field of journalism and Urmila Ramesh Kumar,  entrepreneur, for her social service activities. These awards were presented during the valedictory function of the two day ’Veera Rani Abbakka Utsava – 2019’ organized at Mogaveerapatna, Ullal on  March 3, Sunday.

Sandhya Pai said she was happy to note that the Abbakka Utsav is organised every year in honour of the valiant queen. Urmila Ramesh Kumar  thanked the organisers for selecting her for the Award  and expressed her gratitude to the Gokarnanatha Temple Committee and other organisations in which she is involved and through which she carried out service activities.

The event was organised by the DK District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Kannada and Culture Department and Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports. Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil,  MLC Harish Kumar, ZP Member Mamatha D S Gatti,  Taluk Panchayat President Chandrahas Karkera were present.
