Savira Kambada Basadi At Moodbidri Listed As Incredible Architecture In Latest Edition Of Fodor’s
August 26: The Chandranatha Temple known as Savira Kambada Basadi at Moodbidri has been listed as incredible architecture in the latest edition of Fodor’s, a publisher of travel and tourism information. It is listed as one of the thirteen temples with incredible architecture.
The Basadi has been ranked 3 amongst the thirteen in the list which also includes the Ranakpur Jain Temple in Rajasthan, the Dilwara Temples in Mount Abu and the Chaturmukha Basadi in Karkala.
The temple was built by Devaraya Wodeyar, in 1430. The Basadi has a 50 feet tall monolith manasthambha (a pillar in front of the temple), 7 mandapas (pillared hall) and an 8 feet idol of Chandranatha Swami.
