SDM College to produce biodegradable Sanitary napkins: Know more about this

June 2: The SDM College of Engineering and Technology along with the SDM Vidyarthi Sahakari Sangha started the Raksha sanitary napkin production unit. The unit was inaugurated by Shraddha Amith, daughter of Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade.
Principal of SDM Engineering College Dr Ashok Kumar said that napkins are normally not biodegradable as they have polymer content in it due to which many face skin allergy after using these napkins.
He said that the napkins produced at the College are biodegradable as they are made using pulp, gel, and moisture resistant items. It is user-friendly and absorbs moisture content. He mentioned that a napkin vending machine to purchase napkins will be soon installed.
