Serious Action To Be Taken Against Skill Game & Gambling Centres in Mangalore: ADGP Alok Kumar

The ADGP (law and order) Alok Kumar, had held a grievance meeting for the public, at the city police commissioner’s office in Mangalore on February 10, Friday. He said that there were complaints of skill game and gambling centres, massage parlours and matka business, functioning illegally in the city. He mentioned that CCB personnel have been directed to act against skill game and gambling centres that are functioning illegally in Mangalore city. If there are any specific complaints of police personnel conniving with the gambling centres, then the concerned can submit a complaint with the evidence to prove it. An inquiry will be conducted, and suitable action will be taken in case of specific complaints.

A meeting of representatives from various medical colleges was also held, to discuss about the drive against the drugs menace. Colleges have been asked to take measures to check the drug menace inside their campuses. Meanwhile, police officials have also been directed to continue the drive against drug consumption in the city, especially in paying guest (PG) accommodations. Police inspectors of the respective areas have been asked to convene meetings of PG accommodation owners, once in three months, and keep monitoring them on a regular basis.
