Special Trains Announced Between Mangalore & Bangalore as Requested by MP Captain Brijesh Chowta: Click For Details
The South Western Railway (SWR) has announced the operation of special train services between Mangalore and Bangalore. MP Captain Brijesh Chowta wrote to SWR, urging immediate operation of special trains to assist those affected by the closure of the Shiradi and Sampaje Ghats on the main Mangalore-Bangalore routes due to landslides near Sakleshpur, which blocked NH 75, and near Karthoji, affecting NH 275. The local administrations have restricted vehicular movement on these highways, stranding thousands of people.
Railways will run three special train services in each direction to facilitate travel between the two cities. The details of the services are as follows:
Train No. 06547: KSR Bangalore-Mangalore Junction Express Special will depart from KSR Bangalore at 11 p.m. on July 19 and arrive at Mangalore Junction at 11:40 a.m. on July 20.
Train No. 06549: Yesvantpur-Mangalore Junction Express Special will leave Yesvantpur at 12:30 a.m. on July 22 and reach Mangalore Junction at 11:40 a.m. the same day.
Train No. 06548: Mangalore Junction-KSR Bangalore Express Special will depart from Mangalore Junction at 1:40 p.m. on July 20 and arrive in Bangalore at 11:15 p.m. the same day.
Train No. 06550: Mangalore Junction-Yesvantpur Express Special will leave Mangalore Junction at 1:40 p.m. on July 21 and 22, reaching Yesvantpur at 11:15 p.m. the same day.
These trains have commercial halts at Chikkabanavara, Nelamangala, Channapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Kabaka Puttur, and Bantwal.
