April 22: The successor to Puthige Mutt, one of the Ashta Mutts, will be appointed on Monday. Sugunendra Tirtha, who is the 30th seer of the mutt will complete 45 years of his sanyasa on April 22, Monday.
Prashanth Acharya (27), a graduate engineer of Udupi, son of Gururaja Acharya and Vinuta Acharya of Kunjibettu in Udupi will be initiated into sanyasa as the successor of Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji. He will become the 31st seer of the mutt.
