Survey on Livestock Lost During Recent Floods: Check Out

August 22: A team of 25 officials and students from the Fisheries College  surveyed and assessed the total loss of livestock in the recent floods in Dakshina Kannada.
The survey was conducted on the orders from Government of Karnataka and the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU), Bidar.
The team from fisheries college visited the five taluks and reported a total loss of 20 cattle, 40 goats and 1,269 poultry birds in these taluks. The reports from the team recommended immediate supply of fodder, medicines along with veterinary treatment kits be supplied to all affected areas immediately after flood. The report also suggested to establish central fodder bank at district headquarters.
