Swachh Vahini Starts Collecting Trash Through Barge Services in Udupi District

Swachh Vahini Vehicles are functioning in a systematic manner in Udupi identified as a role model for collection of dry and wet waste and its disposal in scientific manner in the state. The vehicles had to cover a distance of 35 kilometres.

As barge service has started to Kodibengre, the dry waste is being collected like in other villages regularly. Nearly one tonne of dry waste is being collected per week. The driver and the staff go to the spots in the barge for collection of waste showing that the SLRM unit staff is ready to collect trash regardless of the conditions.

The SLRM unit is self-sufficient in the amount and does not seek money from the panchayat for the fuel cost of the vehicle and payment to the staff.
