Tandoor Restaurant becomes first to implement MLA Vedavyas Kamath’s initiative of Plastic free Parcel service

June 21: As we all know about Mangalore South MLA Vedavyas Kamath recent initiative of PLASTIC WASTE FREE MANGALORE where, MLA had requested Hoteliers to cover the food in Banana leaves than in a plastic cover. As we all know plastic waste is increasing in Mangalore, This move by Vedavyas Kamath was appreciated all over on social media.
With respect to this view Mangalore’s famous Restaurant TANDOOR already planned to implement this on experiment basis within 48 hours of MLA’s request.
While speaking to its owner Vadi Shenoy, he said ” Its a great iniitative and we are starting off with Sea Food which will be wrapped in Banana Leaves, and for the betterment of the city we will try maximum to make Mangalore plastic waste free”. By covering it with banana leaves it will increase the flavour of the dish, he added. He also said that “This will be experimental for some time as we need to check how long will it last before being delivered”.

This move by Tandoor Restaurant located at Karangalpady must be appreciated for taking the decision within no time. Hopefully most of the restaurants follow this in future.
