The First ‘Great Indian Coastal Cyclothon’ Launched by CISF Will Reach Mangalore On March 26

The first ‘Great Indian Coastal Cyclothon’ launched by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) from Lakhpat (Gujarat) to Kanyakumari on March 7  organised to celebrate the 56th Raising Day of CISF, will arrive at Panambur in Mangalore on March 26. The cyclists will traverse key coastal cities, including Mumbai, Goa, Kochi, Haldia, Konark, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, and Pondicherry, before concluding at the Swami Vivekananda Memorial in Kanyakumari on March 31, 2025. A total of 125 dedicated CISF cyclists, including 14 women, will embark on a rigorous 6,553 km journey over 25 days, covering 11 states.

Sudhir Kumar, Additional Director General of CISF said that under the theme ‘Secure Shores, Prosperous India’, the rally aims at raising awareness about national security in coastal areas, highlighting the threats posed by smuggling, including drugs, weapons and explosives.

Local dignitaries will flag off the rally from New Mangalore Port Authority premises in the early hours of March 27. Along the way, multiple events will be held, featuring demonstrations and cultural performances by CISF teams, schoolchildren, and NCC groups.
