The weather department has issued an orange alert from August 29 to 31 resulting in intensified rainfall in coastal districts.

Moderate rain showers were recorded in Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday. Mangalore city experienced rain in the afternoon and evening, with cloudy weather prevailing for most of the day whereas, Bantwal, Sullia, and Kadaba districts also received moderate rains. Various parts of Beltangady and Puttur experienced heavy rains on Wednesday afternoon.

Udupi received moderate rain on Wednesday. Areas such as Karkala, Byndoor, Kundapur, Udupi, Kaup, Hebri, and Brahmavar experienced intermittent showers. Udupi and Manipal received heavy rainfall during the evening and night, accompanied by high wind velocity. Udupi, Manipalexperienced significant rainfall late Tuesday night.
