The New Surgery Unit, Physiotherapy Department & Laboratories at Wenlock Ayush Hospital to Start on December 2.
Health and family welfare minister Dinesh Gundurao will open the new surgery unit, physiotherapy department and laboratories at the Wenlock Specialty Ayush Hospital on December 2. The hospital was provided with new units by the Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) as part of its CSR initiative. Dr Mohammad Iqbal, district Ayush officer, said that it is the first time in Karnataka, an Ayush centre is getting all facilities, including a full-fledged surgery unit.
The hospital has separate units of ayurveda, unani, naturopathy, yoga and homoeopathy. The MRPL has sponsored the surgery unit, which was set up at a cost of Rs 38.5 lakh. While the minister will inaugurate the facilities, Karnataka assembly speaker UT Khader will be the guest and Mangalore City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath will preside, he said. The service of surgeons from government and private sectors will be utilized in the hospital.
