The Signboards & Name Plates at NITK to Have Three Languages Henceforth: Click to Know
The signboards and name plates at the National Institute of Technology, Surathkal, will have Kannada apart from the existing Hindi and English languages. The decision to make amendments to the current signboards was taken after the director of NIT Calicut, Prasad Krishna, took charge as the director (additional charge), NITK Surathkal, a few months ago. Kannada will be placed first, followed by Hindi and English. All the boards across campus will be changed by mid-December.
For the last six decades institution had signage and other names boards only in English and Hindi. In total, the majority of the boards and nameplates were written in English compared to Hindi. However, the public, including students, found it difficult to read them. The changing of the boards with three languages has already begun and will be completed by mid of December.
