These are some of the issues faced by Mangaloreans

June 9: Phone -In programme was presided over by Hanumantharaya, DCP (law and order) on Friday. During the phone-in programme, citizens of Mangalore complained about the issues they faced on a regular basis.

The usual complaints were regarding city buses. Many callers told the police that the buses are skipping their last trips of the day. While one caller alleged that buses are skipping their last trips of the day to Sulthan Battery, another caller complained that a lone passenger was made to disembark from the bus mid-way, due to the bus service providers refusal to complete the trip. A caller from Valachil said that private  buses are not coming to their area, and that they are skipping many trips. Residents from Ganjimatta and Ambekdarpadav also complained that private buses plying in theirroute have stopped their services.
A caller complained that two-wheelers are occupying all the spaces which are reserved for four-wheelers.  A resident of Kavoor complained about vehicles being parked on footpaths. A caller said that autorickshaw drivers are fleecing customers at Derlakatte, an area which has a lot of hospitals. Complaints were also received regarding repairing of road humps and replacement of traffic blinkers.
Hanumantharaya said that necessary action will be taken to resolve the issues.
