Minister for energy, Kannada and culture V Sunil Kumar filed his nomination papers as a BJP candidate from Karkala constituency on Thursday, the first day of nomination process for the assembly election of 2023. Kiran Kumar Kodgi has filed his nomination as a BJP candidate, M Dinesh Hegde submitted his nomination as a Congress candidate from Kundapur constituency. Karnataka Rashtra Samiti candidate Ramadas Bhat filed his nomination for Udupi constituency.

In DK, the Election Commission has received two nominations from candidates for Mangalore City North constituency, on the first day on Thursday. Aspirant Yashoda has filed her nomination to contest in Mangalore City North constituency, from the Karnataka Rashtra Samiti. Meanwhile, Suprith Kumar Pujari has submitted his nomination as a JD(U) candidate, to contest from the constituency. April 20 is the last date to submit nomination papers.
