These school children are on mission: Click to know!

May 7: A group of students wearing green were spotted at KSRTC bus stand on Sunday, May 5. These children were on a mission, requesting the passengers to avoid the usage of plastic and not to throw the waste from buses. Hani HR, a student of Jawahar navodaya Vidyalaya, Mudipu was the one who started this initiative along with eight of her friends. Hani said that the reason behind this move is educate the passengers to avoid throwing waste from the buses. She said that during her visit to Chikmagaluru, which is her hometown, she saw the charmadi ghat was full of waste thrown everywhere.
After seaking permission from KSRTC DC Jaishanth Kumar, this group of students interacted with the passengers. These children were divided into three groups who went to passengers in KSRTC bus and requested them to use cloth bags instead of plastic bags. They carried on with their initiative for about three hours. It was observed that while some passengers appreciated the efforts put in by these kids, some passengers just ignored them.
Environmentalist like Dinesh holla, madhav ullal, Dr Sampath kumar were also present to motivate and support the children.
