This is What Happened to the Nearby Residents after the Pacchanady Incident

August 9: Heaps of garbage slid from landfill site at Pacchanady and entered the nearby houses. The garbage began to flow from the site since Tuesday morning due to heavy rain. The garbage began sliding due to the force of the water.
15 families were affected due to the flow of garbage. These families were relocated to a relief centre set up near the Kudupu Ananthapadmanabha temple on Thursday, August 8.
The 15 families will be rehabilitated in the apartments built in Kulashekar and Gurupura by HUDCO and will receive compensation as well.
