Home Minister Rajnath during his visit to Mangalore, also visited Polali Sri Rajarajeshwari Temple and offered special prayers. Minister Rajnath Singh appreciated the heritage & culture of the temple & the presiding deity Sri Rajarajeshwari.
The minister was welcome by the temple management committee members at the main entrance. He went around the temple & took pradakshina and offered special prayers. Priest Ananthapadmanabha Upadhyaya explained to him in Sanskrit the history & signification of the temple which is nearly of 1700 years. The priests offered him with Prasada when he stood before the Sanctum which is the Garbhagudi. Rajnath Singh was then felicitated at the temple. He spend around 17 minutes at the temple premises.
It is known that there was a change in the route in which the Minister was expected to travel to the temple. Earlier he was expected travel on Vamanjur, Gurupur, Kaikamba road to reach the temple. But due to large number of devotees on that road were expected to be present, security officials changed the route to Kannur, Adyar, Thumbe, Maripalla, benjanapadav & kalpane to reach Polali.
