This is what Mangalore South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath said about water rationing

April 23: Mangalore South MLA,D Vedavyas Kamath, visits AMR dam along with Mangalore North MLA Dr Y Bharat Shetty and other BJP leaders in Shambhur on Monday and discuss matters with AMR hydro power plant head Gurudas Mesta. MLA Vedavyas Kamath has appealed to the district administration to stop the water rationing in the city and restart of water supply from Thumbe dam.
He said that as per the agreement with the AMR dam administration committee and the Mangalore City Corporation, the water stored in the dam cannot be utilised for industrial requirements after November and Priority should be given to supply drinking water. MLA Kamath after inspecting the AMR dam at Shambhur, said that the water level in the latter dam had dipped to 5.05 metres after water was released from the dam to Thumbe on March 22 and April 9.
He mentioned that he would meet Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil on Tuesday along with Mangalore North MLA Dr Y Bharat Shetty and former members of the City Corporation to discuss the issue.
