This is what Salumarada Thimmakka wants in her village

April 30: Vandana awards were presented to Ramakrishna Mutt head Swami Jithakamananda and environmentalist Salumarada Thimmakka at hotel Ocean Pearl in Mangalore. This award was instituted by Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotaract Club of Mangalore City.
Salumarada Thimmakka while addressing the gathering said that her village Hulikallu needed a maternity hospital. She added that this can happen with the cooperation of all in helping the poor and the government should also support the cause.
Regarding her achievement in the field of environment protection and empowerment, Thimmakka said that the initiative not only brought her fame, but even her village is known all over the world.
Rotary Mangalore Central President Santhosh Shet presided over the programme.
