This is why a Filipino was evacuated from a foreign vessel and brought to Mangalore

April 11: The ship, MV Broog, was sailing from Ras Laffan, Qatar to Futussu, Japan, with LNG in its cargo. At about 300 nautical miles from the Mangalore coast, the ship’s captain Wilfreo A Sales sent an email to Coastguard headquarters in Panambur, requesting medical assistance to an able seaman (AS), who was suffering from an inflamed appendix.
The Coast Guard, New Mangalore Port Trust’s Deputy conservator, Traffic Manager, Harbour Master, Customs and Immigration Department swung into action and succeeded in the swift.

A Filipino national serving as able seaman on MV Broog, was suffering from abdominal pain, who being evacuated from the cargo vessel and shifted to a private hospital in Mangalore on Thursday.  Appendix was operated successfully and he  is now recovering in the private hospital.
