This Stretch in Mangalore has Nothing but Potholes: Permanent Solution Delayed

September 3: Mangalore Port road between Surathkal and B C Road connecting Bangalore on one side and Mumbai on the other has large number of potholes. This stretch in Mangalore is part of two national highways, NH-66, from Nanthoor to Surathkal and NH-75, from Nanthoor to BC Road.
Travelling on this stretch is nothing but a nightmare as commuters are forced to pay toll but travel on pothole-filled.
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) project director Shishu Mohan, said that permanent repair works have been delayed due to non-availability of concrete. Hence, the potholes are being repaired using wet mix macadam. he also mentioned that it is not possible to execute a permanent solution during rainy reason, as none of the bitumen concrete plants are running.
Daily commuters from Puttur and Sullia to Mangalore are at worst situation as traffic jams have become the order of the day. The vehicle movement has slowed down on the route and several service buses have also reduced trips on the route, causing inconvenience to the travelers.
