This Two-Day Workshop on Lanterns & Lamps is About Traditional Art of Making Clay Diyas: Check Out

October 25: The Kadri Rocks Art Gallery, an art and heritage centre located in the city, will conduct its first-ever Deepavali lantern and lamp-making (diya) workshop on October 25 and 26. This two-day workshop will be open to all who love and enjoy the rich tradition of making clay lamps and diyas.

The workshop will be conducted by one of Mangalore’s renowned lantern (goodudeepa) craftsman Pranesh Kudroli along with popular mixed media artiste Rajesh Shetty. While Pranesh will help participants make their own lanterns Rajesh will present a demonstration on how to make clay lamps. The latter will be only a demonstration since clay lamps do not dry fast and need time to bake.
On October 25, the workshop will be between 4 pm and 7 pm while on October 26, it will be between 10 am and 1 pm. For enquiries or registration, people may contact on 9880137989.
