Thokkottu Flyover inauguration postponed?

June 10: The flyover on National Highway-66 at Thokkottu has been completed after more than eight years. The inauguration of the flyover was planned to be June 10, Monday, but there is no indication that the inauguration will take place as planned. The unrealistic planning and aspects may be the reason to postpone the inauguration.
One of the main reason for the delay is there is no proper service road for vehicles from Mangalore to Ullal and it will be very risky for vehicles from Mangalore which are on the way to Ullal, to cross the national highway towards the right at Ullal Cross the southern end of the flyover at Thokkottu. Another main reason is the possibility of danger near Naganakatte, dedicated to the serpent god. There was a plan to remove it, but due to abjection from devotees it has been retained. Hundreds of vehicles ply on the Mangaluru-Ullal route every day  intersection on a major highway may lead to accidents.
Minister Khader said he has already raised objections for the current plan and demanded a flyover for vehicles from Mangaluru to Ullal at Ullal Cross.
