Threat to the lives of the wild animals in reserve forest area in Karkala taluk: Here is the reason

June 28: Activists of National Environment Care Federation (NECF) visited reserve forest area near Renjala to plant fruit-bearing saplings. During their visit to the reserve forest, they found several liquor bottles dumped beside the road situated on the periphery of the forest in the Western Ghats region.
The environmentalists have expressed concern over dumping of liquor bottles in the forest as broken glass pieces endanger the lives of the wild animals. Liquor bottles, pose threat to the lives of the wild animals when they forage for food and water.
The activists collected all the liquor bottles and other waste collected from the reserve forest and then placed them in front of Renjala Gram Panchayat, to express their displeasure. NECF State Secretary H Shashidhar Shetty urged the officials to ensure that alcoholics do not go inside the forest. He stated that the officials should be cautious and should initiate legal action against those who  dump bottles after consuming liquor on the periphery of the forest.
