Thumbe Dam: Only Four Meter Water Is Being Stored At Present

June 16: As the flow of water in the Netravathi River has increased, some gates have been opened at Thumbe Dam, which supplies water to Mangalore city. At present only 4 meter water is being stored in the dam.
The water in the river has decreased considerably, reaching 5.1 m on Sunday morning and fallen to 2.3 m on Monday morning. The gates in the tube are opened as the rainfall increases the flow of water in the river.
Power generation has already begun at the Shambur AMR Dam, just above Bantwal, this time before the monsoon season due to the high water supply, which started in early June.
